SCHOOL-WIDE ANNOUNCEMENTS

OCTOBER GIVING MONTH STARTS THIS WEEK!

The CVCA October Giving month begins tomorrow! We are challenging each person in our CVCA community to give this month to help fill the gap between tuition and the full cost of the CVCA experience. Your student will immediately be impacted by these gifts. We need every family to give! Every Family. Every Gift. Your gift is needed, whether great or small. Thank you for being an active part of our CVCA community.

Early Access Application for NEw Students

Current CVCA students DO NOT need to reapply for next year due to Continuous Re-enrollment.

CVCA families who will be adding a new student for the 2025-2026 school year can now apply through the Early Access Application recently sent to you via email. Admissions season begins for the general public tomorrow, October 1. Due to anticipated high enrollment, we encourage you to apply now to secure your place in the admissions process!

Wednesday Morning Worship– October 2

All students are invited to join faculty, staff, and their peers on Wednesday, October 2 at 7:50 a.m. in the Chapel. We will worship together, focus on the Gospel, and pray for each other.

Yearbook Distribution – October 2

Yearbook Distribution is on October 2 from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. in the Fieldhouse. Yearbooks are included as part of tuition and are available without any additional cost to students that attended CVCA during the 2023-2024 school year. Parents will need to drop off their students with enough time for the student to pick up the yearbook.

Father/Daughter Breakfast – October 3

Our CVCA Administration and Student Ministry Team are thrilled to invite our students and their parents to share a special time of connection and breakfast together. The events will be held in the Rasnick Center at 7:30 a.m. and cost $5 per person. 

  • Fathers and daughters are invited to join us on Thursday, October 3. Register HERE.

Holy Smokes BBQ Tailgate Party – October 3

All CVCA families are invited to the Holy Smokes BBQ tailgate Party (hosted by Douglass House and sponsored by Duma Meats) on Thursday, October 3. Tickets are $6 each and includes a sandwich, coleslaw, chips, drink, cookie, and ticket to the Lady Royals Volleyball game. Purchase tickets HERE. Proceeds benefit the Homecoming Outreach Project, Riverwood Food Pantry and Landing Bags.

Food trucks at October 4  Football Game

On October 4th we will welcome our CVCA alumni back to campus for Homecoming. All current families are invited to visit the food trucks and welcome our alumni back to Royals Stadium. Food trucks will open at 4:30 p.m.

Alumni Invited to Homecoming

Do you have a CVCA alum in your family? All CVCA alumni are invited to celebrate Homecoming with us on Friday, October 4. Come enjoy the food trucks and treats, hang out in the VIP end-zone tent area to catch up with friends and former classmates, and take a tour of all the campus updates. Jazz Band Open to All Students

All students are invited to audition for our new Jazz Band. The following instruments are needed: pianist, guitar (acoustic or electric), bass (guitar or upright), drum set, alto sax, tenor sax, bari sax, trumpet, and trombone. Multiple positions are open for each. Do you play an instrument that’s not listed? A small audition is required (play a recent piece of music you have worked on). Auditions must be scheduled and completed by October 10. Email Mr. Hubbell at chubbell@cvcaroyals.org

Testing and Early Release for HIgh Schoolers – October 10

On Thursday, October 10, students in grades 9-11 will have testing. Seniors will have a class meeting, and middle schoolers will not have school. Please see the details below…

  • On Thursday, October 10, digital PSAT testing will be administered to tenth and eleventh-grade students. Students who are testing that day will arrive at the regular school start time and head promptly to their assigned testing rooms (based on lists posted around the building). Each student’s Chromebook should be fully charged to last for the whole digital test. PSAT tests should be completed by 11:30 a.m. for students being picked up from school that morning.

  • Ninth-grade students will also arrive at the regular start time and make their way to their assigned YouScience testing rooms with Chromebooks fully charged. YouScience testing will be complete by 10:20 a.m., and ninth graders may be picked up at the Learning Commons school entrance anytime after 10:20 a.m.

  • All students waiting for rides after PSAT and YouScience testing are complete will report to the Learning Commons following their testing sessions.

  • Twelfth-grade students will report to school by 9:00 a.m. and head to the Rasnick Center for some important announcements and senior functions. Seniors will be released around 10:15 a.m.

  • Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders do not need to report to school on Thursday, October 10.

Talking Royals Speech and Debate Team

Are you interested in joining the Talking Royals Speech and Debate Team? Even if you missed the informational meeting, you can still join us. Email Mr. Paisley (tpaisley@cvcaroyals.org) or show up in Room 130 on Thursdays for a whole-team practice. Open to boys and girls in all grades.

Reporting Absences and Early/Late Arrivals

Any time a student needs to leave early or arrive late to school for any reason (doctor’s appointment, etc.), a parent should report it in the Safe Arrival app.

MIDDLE-SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

No School For Grades 6-8 – October 10

On Thursday, October 10, students in grades 6-8 will not have school due to testing for high school students.

HIGH-SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

High School Jterm registration has begun!

All high school families have received an email about registering for Jterm. Please note that the registration link will close at the end of the day tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Payment is due at registration.

All high school students should be enrolled in one of the following options for Jterm: 

  • All-day class
  • Morning and afternoon class session – creating a full day experience
  • Career Experience Opportunity (grades 9-12)   
  • Trip

Parking Passes

All student drivers parking on campus are required to register their vehicle with the school and purchase a parking tag. Students who have not yet purchased a parking pass need to do so before October 1. You can purchase a tag here HERE. As a reminder, students are not permitted to park in the spaces marked “Visitor” as those are reserved for our guests.

SOBE MICROGRANT PROGRAM

All high school students who want to grow their existing business or start their own business are encouraged to learn more about the SOBE MicroGrant program. Read all about it HERE.

SCHOOL AND COLLEGE COUNSELING

ACT Test Prep Classes at CVCA

ACT test preparation is available at CVCA through our test prep partner, PATHworks! Students attend all three classes on October 15, 16, 17 or February 25, 26, 27 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sessions include:

  • First Class: Full practice test and score with feedback
  • Second Class: GROUNDWork, English, and Math sections
  • Third Class: Action Planning, Reading, and Science sections

Volunteers Needed for Homecoming

We are excited about the upcoming Homecoming Dance and need your help to make it a success! We are looking for volunteers to assist with various tasks such as making decorations, selling tickets during school hours, donating cookies, and helping with the setup and cleanup for the dance.  If you’re able to lend a hand, please sign up HERE

Moms in Prayer

Moms in Prayer is a great way to connect with other CVCA moms, pray for our school and community, and get engaged with the school in a deeper way. Moms in Prayer meets weekly from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. They will meet at the Tennis Pavilion while the weather is good. Please park at the tennis court lot. Whether you can participate one time, once a month, or every week, you are welcome. For those who can’t meet in person at that time, you can receive a weekly email to pray from home. Pink Out Football Game Tshirts – Last Chance to Order Tickets

On Friday, October 18, CVCA will host Orrville in the annual Pink Out Football game. On this night, the CVCA community will come together to “Tackle Cancer.” CVCA students, families, and friends are encouraged to support the cause by purchasing and wearing Pink Out shirts. Shirts can be ordered HERE. ORDER BY OCTOBER 1 to have your shirt for the game.

Senior Sports Nights

The fall sports programs have scheduled their Senior Night for the class of 2025. Please join us to celebrate our fall senior athletes.

Eat Wings, Raise Funds – October 21

CVCA Athletics is excited to announce an “Eat Wings, Raise Funds” night on October 21 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings in Cuyahoga Falls (3001 State Road). BWW will donate 15% of both dine-in and takeout food sales when an event ticket is presented. Gather your squad and plan to support the Royals. Remember to physically or digitally show your server the event ticket to be included in the fundraiser. Print your tickets HERE.

Winter Sports Registration

Winter Sports are right around the corner. Be sure you have registered in FinalForms if you plan to participate in a winter sport this year. Now is the time to check your sport registration, complete your pre-participation paperwork, and submit a current sports physical. Visit cvca-oh.finalforms.com to access your account.
