Talking Royals Success

The Talking Royals performed well at the Wadsworth tournament this weekend. Katie Siff again led the team, emerging as the tournament champion in U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking after taking first place in every round, including a unanimous first place rank in the final round. Katie has placed in the top six at every tournament this year, and is now officially pre-qualified for the State Tournament, less than halfway through the season. Katie was not the only CVCA student in the US Extemporaneous final round. Nate Cook took first in every preliminary round and fifth in the final round. The Public Forum pair of Anna Trenta and Talie Koch took fifth place, and Rachel Weygandt won a spot in the Congressional Debate final round. The Duo Interpretation pair of Jane Bossler and Solly Horn won a novice award, as did U.S. Extemporaneous competitor Owen Lee.

Royal Evening Volunteeer Meetings – December 4

The Royal Evening is a community wide event and the largest single fundraiser for CVCA’s Annual Fund, directly benefiting our students. This year’s event will be on Saturday March 8, 2025. It is an evening of great fun, delicious food, dear fellowship, and celebrating what God is doing at CVCA.

There are great opportunities for everyone to participate in this event. From set up to tear down, and a million things in between, there are ways for every family to get involved. Coordinate an auction item basket from your child’s class. Administrative work either here or at home. Help decorate and transform Royals Fieldhouse into a beautiful auction venue. It’s a great way to serve and get to know more families in our community.

To learn more about the Royal Evening and how you can participate, please attend a volunteer meeting on Wednesday, December 4 at either 7:30 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. If you cannot attend or have questions, please contact Kristin Nichols, Royal Evening Coordinator at knichols@cvcaroyals.org.
