Royal Evening Class Baskets
Did you know that each of our classes contribute a basket or two to the Royal Evening silent auction? This is a fun and creative way for all of our families to be part of the event’s auction excitement. Take a look HERE at each of the class opportunities and join in the fun!
Talking Royals Tournament Success
On December 15-16, the debaters of the Talking Royals competed at Glenoak High School. The highlight of the Glenoak Debate Tournament was Donovan Brown’s 9th place finish in Lincoln-Douglas debate, which, combined with his success earlier this season, makes him the first member of the team to qualify for the State Tournament ahead of districts. The Speech side of the team competed at McKinley High School on December 16, led by Katie Siff, who took 4th in United States extemporaneous speaking, and Alex Robinson, who took 6th in humorous interpretation.
Junior Royals Basketball Night – January 12
On Friday, January 12, all Junior Royals are invited for an exciting night with Royals Varsity Basketball! Junior Royals check-in will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the Rasnick Center, and the game will begin at 7:00 p.m. All Junior Royals will receive:
- Snack bag
- A mini basketball
- Chance to win a team-signed basketball and Sky Zone birthday party for ten valued at $280
Five lucky Junior Royals will also have a chance to win an opportunity to come down on the court during halftime to win some fabulous prizes!

Talking Royals Showcase – January 19
The Talking Royals are thrilled to announce their inaugural Showcase event on Friday, January 19, 6:30 p.m. in the Anne Tell Chapel. Come see CVCA students perform their speeches and interpretation pieces, then attend a breakout session, where every Talking Royal has the opportunity to perform or debate. The event is free, so invite your family and friends.
SOBE PITCH NIGHT – January 25
Seniors in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship will present their business pitches to a panel of judges in front of a live audience at the 9th Annual Business Pitch Night on January 25, 5:00-8:00 p.m. (doors open at 4:30). The event will be held in the Chapel and Rasnick Center. RSVP HERE.
Junior Royals Hockey Event – January 27
On Saturday, January 27, the Junior Royals will hold thir 2nd Annual Hockey Event at the Dan Kostel Recreation Center in Garfield Heights. Check-in will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by CVCA’s Senior Recognition at 5:00 p.m. The game will begin at 5:30 p.m. Junior Royals will receive:
- FREE ticket to the game
- Gift bag
- Hot chocolate bar and cookies
- Chance to win four tickets to a Cleveland Monsters Hockey game
- FREE skate with the Varsity Royals Hockey Team after the game and FREE rentals

Snow Day Notifications
In the case of bad weather/road conditions or other emergency conditions, CVCA school closure information is posted on our website. A text message and email will also be sent to families, so please make sure your contact information is up to date in Renweb (Family Portal).

HIGH SCHOOL
High School Jterm Reminders
Jterm 2024 will take place Tuesday, January 2 through Friday, January 5. High school students will be in session daily from 7:50 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. Please check your Quarter 3 schedule in RenWeb for your Jterm selections and room assignments. Students arriving after 7:50 a.m. must sign in at the Welcome Center and will be marked tardy.
- Morning Session: 7:50 to 10:50 a.m.
- Lunch: 10:55 to 11:45 a.m. Students may purchase items from AVI and eat in the Cafeteria, Rasnick Center, and Learning Commons.
- Afternoon Session: 11:50 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
- All-day On-campus Sessions: 7:50 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. (Lunch may vary depending on the course leader and activity.)
Hockey and Boys’ Basketball Teams: Follow the schedule provided by your coach and meet in the appropriate areas for your team.
Student attire for the week is CVCA spirit wear tops with sweatpants (no jeans, shorts, or leggings). Leaders will provide additional information for students going off campus. Please note that students may be required to wear appropriate uniform bottoms off-campus.
Avenues toward College Credit at CVCA – January 10, 2024
Come hear about the ways qualified students can gain college experience and credit at low or no additional cost while participating fully in high school life at CVCA! Join us for an Avenues Towards College Credit presentation on January 10 at 6:00 p.m. in the Learning Commons. The meeting is open to all parents and students, grades 8-11.
Malone University Rep meetings
Representatives from various departments at Malone University will be here to speak with students in the Rasnick Center from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
