Your first Royal Weekly of the 2022-2023 school year is here! Published each Monday, this newsletter provides the latest CVCA news, events, and announcements for both parents and students. For your convenience, issues of the Royal Weekly are available on the MY CVCA page of our school website. As school is quickly approaching, there are plenty of important items to share, so please take a few minutes to read through today’s post.

New Student/Parent Orientation – August 10

We are looking forward to meeting all of our new students and parents at Orientation on Wednesday, August 10 at 6:30 p.m. The evening will include:

  • A time of worship and dedication of the school year
  • A chance to pick up Chromebooks
  • Walk class schedules (schedules available August 10 – please bring a copy)
  • Set up locker and put supplies away
  • Meet some teachers
  • Purchase CVCA apparel
  • Speak with the Athletic Office staff
  • Meet other new families
  • Q & A time

Ignition and JumpStart Meetings – August 10

ALL 6th and 7th grade students and their parents should attend informational meetings on Wednesday, August 10 at 5:45 p.m. (before Orientation). We will cover everything you need to know about these back-to-school retreats:

  • 6th Grade Ignition Meeting – Cafeteria
  • 7th Grade JumpStart Meeting – Gymnasium

Student Class Schedules

Student schedules will be available in Family Portal (RenWeb) on August 10.

PARENT BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT – August 25

All CVCA parents are encouraged to attend this informative evening to meet your student’s teachers who will present overviews of their curriculum and classroom procedures. Although there is not time during Back-to-School Night for lengthy individual conversations, teachers will be happy to answer general questions regarding their objectives and goals.

You will follow an abbreviated version of your student’s class schedule. Please have your student fill out his/her Monday class schedule or download a copy fromFamily Portal (RenWeb) and bring it with you.

We look forward to seeing you as we get the school year off to a great start!

Food Service Opportunities

Part-time positions are available with AVI Foodsystems, our Cafeteria food service provider. They offer great benefits and flexible hours. More information is available HERE.

Parent Connections

CVCA Parents are invited to enjoy coffee and conversation with other parents in your student’s grade level. Hosted by the Advancement Team, this is a great opportunity to meet others in the CVCA community and learn more about how to get involved at CVCA. 

  • Friday, August 12 – LaunchPoint – 8th grade – 12:45 p.m.
  • Monday, August 15 – Ignition – 6th grade – 7:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, August 17 – Jumpstart – 7th grade – 7:30 a.m.
  • Monday, August 22 – Froshfest – 9th grade – 7:30 a.m.

Parking Passes

All student drivers are required to register their car in the Main Office. Permits are available for $80. More Information can be found HERE.

Jterm Registration

Our next Jterm is scheduled for January 3-6, 2023. Registration will take place later this month. A complete catalog of courses and pricing will be sent to you in August. Please take a moment to look through this PROSPECTIVE JTERM CATALOG of planned courses as you begin to consider what might be the best fit for your student.

Health Clinic Updates

The CVCA Health Clinic team looks forward to another year of caring for your students! Our Health Clinic nurses are Kendall Hudson, RN; Erin Aldridge, RN; and Rachel Mathoslah, RN. As we head into the start of a new school year, our nurses request that you please notify them via email with the following information:

  1. Please send up-to-date immunization records, especially for new students, incoming 7th graders, and incoming 12th graders. Immunization requirements are available HERE.
  2. Anyone providing an immunization exemption form must complete a new form for the current school year.These forms are available by request. Please email the health clinic.
  3. Please make sure we have updated information for students with: allergies requiring an action plan and/or use of an Epipen/Auvi-Q, diabetes, or asthma.

Lastly, please access your Family Portal (Renweb) account and ensure you have provided Consent to Treat under your student’s medical tab as well as consent to administer stocked over-the-counter medications, including Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Tums, and Benadryl. The team cannot treat your child without this consent in Renweb.

CVCA’s Health Clinic office hours are Monday- Friday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Heatlh Clinic can be reached by phone at 330-929-0575, ext. 398 or by email at healthclinic@cvcaroyals.org.

Moms in Prayer

The CVCA Moms in Prayer group invites all moms and grandmothers on Friday mornings to pray over the school, the students, and the staff. The first meeting will be on Friday, September 9 at 8:00 a.m. (after CVCA drop-off) at the CVCA Tennis Pavilion. To sign up or get more information, email momsinprayer@cvcaroyals.org.

Royals Football “Save My Seat”

Reserve your own assigned and installed chairback in a dedicated prime location on the 50-yard line for the entire home season. Leave your gear at home, save time bypassing the ticket booth, assure you always sit in your favorite spot, and in the process help raise funds for Royals Football. First come-first served and seats are limited. Reserve your seat and regular season home game tickets today with a $150 (per seat) contribution to Friends of Royals Football. All proceeds go to support the Royals Football program. For more information, contact: seats@forfb.org.

Grandparents Day Date Change

Please note on your CVCA school year calendar that Grandparents Day has been moved from this fall to April 14, 2023 due to on-campus construction. Details will be sent to families as the new date approaches.
