SCHOOL-WIDE ANNOUNCEMENTS

OEC Renewal for ALL Families

All families must renew their OEC application to CVCA through the Google Form on our website in order to remain eligible for OEC tuition dollars.

Simply go to our EdChoice Page for the forms and instructions required for renewal. Remember your OEC application renewal must be submitted to CVCA through the Google Form on our website.

  • After we have processed your renewal forms, you will receive an email with further instructions to help you determine if income verification is needed.
  • Most families will NOT need to submit income verification.
  • Submitting income verification unnecessarily could cause a reduction to the amount of your OEC scholarship award, as explained HERE.

IOWA Testing and Adjusted Schedule – April 15

On Tuesday, April 15, 9th and 10th grade students will report at 7:50 a.m. for state mandated IOWA testing. 9th graders will take a math test and 10th graders will take a grade-level reading test. All other students (middle school, juniors, and seniors) first period will start at 9:02 a.m. Non-testing students who must be dropped off early will gather in the Rasnick Center until they are officially released to first period classes. Students are encouraged to be at school by 8:55 a.m.

Guest Musician Showcase – April 14

Join us for a special musical event as Gospel pianist and historian Ms. Marcella Caffie brings the rich heritage of Gospel music to life! This talented artist will perform and offer a taste of this powerful musical tradition. For those interested in diving deeper, don’t miss the comprehensive presentation on Monday, April 14 during 7th period in the Choir Room, when you’ll learn about Gospel’s historical significance, distinctive techniques, and its enduring influence on American music. Come experience the passion, spirituality, and remarkable artistry of Gospel music through the hands and knowledge of a true master of the craft!

Students can also hear Ms. Caffie perform during lunches 5a and 5b in the Choir Room. Bring your lunch and enjoy the performance.

SOBE Marketing Pitch Night – April 16

Come support the SOBE juniors as their teams present marketing plans to a panel of judges, showcasing some amazing local businesses! The 10th Annual Marketing Pitch Night will be on Wednesday, April 16 at 5:00 p.m. in the Learning Commons. Reserve your tickets HERE.

Teacher Appreciation Week – April 28 – May 2

We have so much to look forward to this spring, including a whole week dedicated to thanking and blessing our CVCA teachers and staff. Yummy food, gratitude, and words of encouragement are energy for our hearts and souls.  So that’s what we have lined up for the week – five days of different food to enjoy and notes, texts, emails, and cards sent from students and parents to bless them! Spring Musical Tickets on sale Now!

Tickets are now on sale for The Royal Theatre’s 2025 Spring Musical, Newsies. Get your tickets at iTickets.com. This year’s shows:

  • April 25 & 26 at 7:00 p.m.
  • April 30 at 6:30 p.m.
  • May 2 at 7:00 p.m.
  • May 3 at 2:00 p.m.

Junior Royals Night at the Royal Theatre is Wednesday, April 30  with general admission seating. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or with a check/cash at the door. Junior Royals receive one free admission ticket and VIP treatment at check-in. Family members pay standard admission. Junior Royals Club members register for the event HERE.

CVCA Summer Camps

CVCA offers summer camps for children ages 7-16. Led by CVCA coaches and athletes, teachers, and Royal Theatre directors and student-actors. Campers enjoy learning new skills and making new friends in a Christ-centered environment. Space is limited and camps fill up quickly. Register HERE.

HIGH-SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Junior-Senior Prom – May 10

All juniors and seniors are invited to attend Prom on Saturday, May 10, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Quaker Station (135 S. Broadway St., Akron 44308). Tickets are $45 each and will be purchased for through FACTS from Thursday, April 24 – Friday, May 2.

A parent-signed Prom Waiver is required to purchase ticket. Non-CVCA guests must complete a Guest Waiver. Waivers can be dropped off and tickets picked up in the Welcome Center lobby April 24 to May 2.

Summer Health Course for Grades 9-11

This summer, CVCA will offer a Health course for grades 9-11. The co-ed course will be taught on campus by CVCA Health instructor Mrs. Brandy Tepley from July 7 to July 25. There is a $500 fee for this summer course, which, like our fall and spring Health courses, meets Ohio’s graduation requirement for a half credit of Health instruction. Military Academy and ROTC Information Meeting – April 16

Students and families are invited to attend a Military Academies and ROTC Informational Meeting on Wednesday, April 16 in the Rasnick Center. This is a unique event to delve into the world of education and service through service academies and/or ROTC programs. RSVP HERE to reserve your place for what will be a great opportunity to learn more about Military Academies, ROTC opportunities, as well as Nursing/Medical Scholarships within the military.

Our guest speakers, LTC (retired) Patrick Grow and MAJ Charles Johnson will discuss:

  • What Military Academies and ROTC Offers: Learn why military academies and ROTC options stand out as premier institutions for leadership development, academic excellence, and character growth.
  • Differences between Military Academies and ROTC: learn the differences between the two options that have similar end goals.
  • The Application Process: Understand the application steps for service academies, ROTC scholarships, and Nursing/Medical Scholarships within the military.

Throughout the year, numerous college reps visit CVCA to meet with students, offer information, and answer questions. All reps are stationed in the Rasnick Center unless otherwise noted.

CLUB UPDATES

Student Photo Contest

CVCA students are invited to participate in the Yearbook Photo Contest. Students should submit photos to yearbook@cvcaroyals.org (with the subject “Photo Contest”) and include a message explaining the photo and the reason behind it. Judges outside of Yearbook will select the winner who will receive a small prize and their photo featured in the yearbook. The submission deadline is April 11.

ATHLETICS UPDATES

2025-2026 Cheer Clinics and Tryouts

CVCA Cheerleading Clinics and tryouts for the 2025-2026 school year will be held Monday, April 7 through Saturday, April 12. Tryouts will be for the fall and winter seasons and are for girls entering grades 7-12. For current/returning students, this will be the ONLY tryout for cheerleading for the 2025-2026 school year. We will NOT hold additional tryouts for CURRENT CVCA students.  All clinics and tryouts will be held in the Gym, and the Parent Meeting will be held in the Cafeteria.

Athletes who are NEW to CVCA Cheerleading, please click HERE to complete a form to receive information leading up to tryouts. This is not formal registration. Final Forms registration will open later and will be REQUIRED for all athletes trying out.
