Teacher Appreciation Week – April 28 – May 2

We are excited to kick off a long-standing tradition of honoring our teachers and staff.  We take this opportunity to bless and encourage our community that pours into the lives of students.  This week is a time to feed, encourage, and share in a spirit of thankfulness. 2025-2026 Host Families Needed for international students

CVCA will host international students for the 2025-2026 school year. We will host 4 junior students from our sister schools in Brazil and Norway.  Some students will be here for the full year, and some for only the fall semester. If you are interested in hosting a student or would like to learn more, please contact Brenda Worth at bworth@cvcaroyals.org.

HIGH-SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Junior-Senior Prom – May 10

All juniors and seniors are invited to attend Prom on Saturday, May 10, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Quaker Station (135 S. Broadway St., Akron 44308). Tickets are $45 each and will be purchased for through FACTS from Thursday, April 24 – Friday, May 2.

A parent-signed Prom Waiver is required to purchase ticket. Non-CVCA guests must complete a Guest Waiver. Waivers can be dropped off and tickets picked up in the Welcome Center lobby April 24 to May 2.

Summer Health Course for Grades 9-11

This summer, CVCA will offer a Health course for grades 9-11. The co-ed course will be taught on campus by CVCA Health instructor Mrs. Brandy Tepley from July 7 to July 25. There is a $500 fee for this summer course, which, like our fall and spring Health courses, meets Ohio’s graduation requirement for a half credit of Health instruction. Throughout the year, numerous college reps visit CVCA to meet with students, offer information, and answer questions. All reps are stationed in the Rasnick Center unless otherwise noted.

Tax Day is Tomorrow!

You can give a gift to CVCA students that costs you nothing! There’s still time to direct your tax dollars to CVCA’s tuition assistance program and get a credit on your taxes, due April 15th!

CLUB UPDATES

Middle School Show Choir Open House and Auditions – May 21

The Middle School Show Choir will hold a Camp Open House on Wednesday, May 21 from noon to 3:00. All students who will be in grades 6, 7, or 8 in the 2025-2026 school year are welcome to come see what Show Choir is all about and to audition. Academic Challenge Advances to States

On Saturday, April 12th, the CVCA Varsity Academic Challenge team of senior Sarah Choi, junior Owen Lee, sophomore Will Helin, and freshman Ben Choi took second place at regionals, qualifying to compete at the state championships on May 3rd. Great job, CVCA Academic Challenge!

ATHLETICS UPDATES

Girls Golf Interest Meeting – April 23

All girls currently in grades 8 to 11 who are interested in playing golf in the 2025-2026 season should attend an information meeting on Wednesday, April 23 during 5A and 5B lunches in Room 108. Bring your lunch and learn about the upcoming season.

Girls Tennis Interest Meeting – May 1

The CVCA high school girls tennis team will hold an informational meeting about the 2025 season on Thursday, May 1 at 3:00 p.m. in Room 276. All high school girls interested in playing tennis in the fall should attend. Contact Coach Ramey at dramey@cvcaroyals.org with any questions.

5k Run or Walk Girls Soccer team fundraiser – August 2

Mark your calendars, start training, and join us for the Girls Soccer Team 5k Run and Walk. This fun family-friendly event is a great way to stay active while helping raise funds to grow and strengthen the Girls Soccer program. Whether you choose to walk, jog, or run, every step you take will directly support equipment, uniforms, travel expenses, and other needs for the team. Let’s come together as a community to encourage these young ladies both on and off the field. Thank you for helping us make a difference – one step at a time!
