Academic Challenge Takes Second Place in SCACL
Over the course of the fall Summit County Academic Challenge League matches, CVCA’s varsity went 13-1, placing second out of 22 teams, and JV went 12-2, placing second out of 13 teams. Several students also received individual recognition. Out of the 100 JV players in the league, CVCA had three top-ten finishers: freshman Ben Choi (4th), senior Talie Koch (6th), and sophomore Wyatt Barnes (9th); top overall honors go to sophomore Will Helin, who ranked first out of 173 varsity players. Great job, Academic Challenge teams!

We Want to Hear From You!
This year’s Royal Evening will take place on Saturday, March 8. As we plan for this annual event, we would love to get your input. Please take a minute to answer a few Royal Evening questions HERE.
A donation to CVCA that Costs you Nothing!
Ohio’s Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) allows you to make a donation to CVCA that will actually cost you nothing. Every dollar you contribute directly reduces your state tax liability. The state allows you to use a portion of your tax dollars to directly benefit CVCA students. The credit is capped at $750 per individual taxpayer or $1,500 for couples.
Last year, our families and friends directed more than $300,000 in tax dollars to CVCA through this program. If every one of our families participates this year, we could raise well over $1,000,000, all of which funds tuition costs for students who might not be able to attend CVCA without your help. Learn more HERE. Questions? Contact John Harabedian at jharabedian@cvcaroyals.org.
Royal Evening Volunteer Meetings – December 4
The Royal Evening is a community-wide event and the largest single fundraiser for tuition assistance, which directly benefits our students. This year’s event will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025. It is an evening of great fun, delicious food, fellowship, and celebrating what God is doing at CVCA.
There are great opportunities for everyone to participate in this event. From set up to tear down, and a million things in between, there are ways for every family to get involved. Coordinate an auction item basket from your child’s class. Administrative work either here or at home. Help decorate and transform Royals Fieldhouse into a beautiful auction venue. It’s a great way to serve and get to know more families in our community.
To learn more about the Royal Evening and how you can participate, please attend a volunteer meeting on Wednesday, December 4 at either 7:30 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. If you cannot attend or have questions, please contact Kristin Nichols, Royal Evening Coordinator at knichols@cvcaroyals.org.
Moms in Prayer
Moms in Prayer is a great way to connect with other CVCA moms, pray for our school and community, and get engaged with the school in a deeper way. Moms in Prayer meets every Friday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. in the Athletics Conference Room. (Meet at the Welcome Center at 7:55 a.m.) Whether you can participate one time, once a month, or every week, you are welcome. Those who can’t meet in person can receive a weekly email to pray from home. Email momsinprayer@cvcaroyals.org for more information or to join the weekly email group.
